AURA is transforming the landscape of automated security response. As the Operations Director, your primary mission is to lead a high-performing team in managing and scaling our extensive network of sub-contracted security response partners across the UK. You will be responsible for the "Gold Standard" of our product: ensuring that when an alarm is triggered, our response is lightning-fast, the quality of the on-site visit is impeccable, and the reporting is data-rich—all while maintaining a lean, cost-effective, and hyper-scalable operational model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Network Management
  • Partner Optimisation: Oversee the management of our third-party security provider network, ensuring geographic coverage aligns with client demand.
  • Relationship Leadership: Act as the senior point of escalation for key sub-contracted partners, fostering long-term, mutually beneficial service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Procurement & Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations to ensure cost-efficiency and performance-based incentives are baked into our partner ecosystem.
  • Operational Excellence & Performance
    • Response Speed: Continuously monitor and optimise "Time to Site" metrics, identifying bottlenecks in dispatch or partner readiness.
    • Quality Assurance: Define and enforce standards for on-site visits and digital incident reporting. You ensure that what the client receives is professional, accurate, and actionable.
    • Continuous Improvement: Implement feedback loops between our technology team and our partners to streamline the dispatch-to-resolution workflow.
  • Scalability & Efficiency
    • Process Engineering: Design operational frameworks that allow AURA to double its volume without doubling its overhead.
    • Financial Oversight: Manage the operational budget, focusing on reducing the "Cost per Response" while maintaining premium service quality.
    • Tech Integration: Work closely with the Product team to automate manual tasks within the operations room, moving toward a "management by exception" model.
  • Leadership & People
    • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a small, agile operations team. Cultivate a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and "customer-first" thinking.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the bridge between Operations, Sales (to ensure we can deliver what is promised), and Tech (to build the tools you need).

    Requirements

    • Experience
    • 8+ Years in Operations: Ideally within security, logistics, on-demand services, or high-growth tech-enabled businesses.
    • Network Management: Proven track third-party/sub-contractor management at scale.
    • Leadership: Experience managing small, high-impact teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skills
    • Analytical Mindset: You live in the data. You can spot a trend in a spreadsheet before it becomes a problem in the field.
    • Negotiation: A firm but fair negotiator who understands how to drive value from supplier partnerships.
    • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with SaaS platforms, dispatch logic, and data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, or internal dashboards).
    • Strategic Vision: The ability to pivot from a granular operational fire to high-level 12-month scaling strategy.
