We’re partnering with a VC-backed, early-stage, mission-driven startup that’s building an AI-enabled toxicology platform to help scientists move medicines from discovery to patients faster and more safely. Operating at the intersection of software engineering and life sciences, they’re tackling some of the hardest problems in drug development with elegant, scalable technology.
As an early engineering hire, you’ll have a genuine opportunity to shape both the technical foundation and engineering culture of a platform used by scientists around the world.
The role: You’ll join as a Software Engineer, helping build and scale a platform that processes and analyses millions of biological data points. Working closely with scientists and fellow engineers, you’ll translate complex, often ambiguous scientific questions into robust production software. This is a hands-on role with real ownership and long-term impact.
What you’ll be working on:
- Building clean, maintainable Python applications that scale with large biological datasets
- Designing and maintaining data pipelines that ingest, transform, and score scientific and clinical data
- Collaborating with scientists to turn research problems into usable software tools
- Shaping platform architecture to support rapid growth and experimentation
- Setting high standards for code quality through reviews, discussions, and best practices
You’ll thrive if you:
- Have strong Python experience and care deeply about clean, well-tested code
- Have 4+ years of professional software development experience
- Enjoy working in early-stage environments where your decisions really matter
- Are curious, adaptable, and excited to learn about life sciences and AI
Nice to have:
- Background in biomedical, bioinformatics, or healthcare domains
- Experience working with scientific or clinical datasets
Why this role: This is a rare chance to work on 0→1 technical challenges in a company combining deep science, AI, and real-world impact. You’ll help shape a platform that directly supports drug discovery, while growing alongside a thoughtful, mission-driven team — with equity, autonomy, and protected time for learning built in.
