  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils who require additional help with their learning.

  • Supporting children with SEND, adapting your approach to meet individual learning needs, abilities and communication styles.

  • Helping pupils develop their literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum skills in line with their individual targets.

  • Encouraging positive behaviour, concentration, participation and independence.

  • Supporting pupils' social communication, emotional regulation and relationships with their peers.

  • Using differentiated activities, visual resources and appropriate strategies to help pupils engage with learning.

  • Working closely with teachers and other school staff to ensure consistent support and positive outcomes.

  • Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom where every child feels valued.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for working with primary-aged children and supporting their development.

  • Has experience supporting pupils with SEND, additional learning needs or barriers to education.

  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, resilience and a calm, positive approach.

  • Understands the importance of adapting learning activities to suit different abilities and learning styles.

  • Has strong communication skills and can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.

  • Works effectively as part of a team while also using their own initiative.

  • Is reliable, proactive and committed to helping every child achieve their potential.

A relevant Teaching Assistant or SEND qualification would be advantageous, alongside previous experience in a primary school or educational setting.
