Aura Education have an exciting opportunity for a pro active and energetic Teaching Assistant (TA) with social emotional and mental health (SEMH) experience to join their support staff team in a SEND school in the Liverpool area. This new role will provide you with the right support and guidance from the teaching staff, undertaking support programmes that enable access to learning for all pupils. This full-time, long-term role will run until the end of the academic year and possibly be extended into academic year September 2026 for the right fit candidate. Starting at 8.30am and finishing at 3.30pm, and there is a competitive daily rate on offer depending on experience.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Experience in supporting pupils in a classroom environment, including those with special educational needs especially pupils with social and emotional issues.
  • A good understanding of the national curriculum at primary level.
  • Good understanding of child development and learning.
  • The ability to demonstrate active listening skills and strong verbal communication skills.
  • A dedication to build positive relationships with pupils.
