This role is for a Secondary Maths teacher based within a South Liverpool secondary special school for boys with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
Experience/Qualifications needed:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Understanding of SEMH needs, trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches.
- Ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable pupils.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Resilience, adaptability and emotional intelligence.
About the Role:
To deliver high-quality Mathematics teaching to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, enabling them to achieve positive academic, personal and emotional outcomes. The postholder will create a safe, engaging and supportive learning environment, using adaptive teaching, strong behaviour management and trauma-informed approaches to support pupils with a range of additional needs and barriers to learning. This is a permanent role (temp to perm) starting ASAP to do a handover period and then a September start.
