We are seeking a dynamic and experienced 1-1 Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream primary school located in the PR9 area of Southport. This full-time position involves providing essential support to a pupil with behavioural issues, ensuring their successful integration into all aspects of school life.
Responsibilities- Behavioural Support: Work closely with the student to provide targeted support for managing behaviour within the school setting.
- Academic Assistance: Collaborate with the classroom teacher to facilitate the student's engagement in academic activities, adapting strategies to address behavioural challenges.
- Behaviour Management: Implement effective behaviour management strategies in accordance with the school's policies, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Inclusive Learning: Promote the inclusion of the student in various school activities, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
- Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication with the student, school staff, and parents to address behavioural progress and concerns.
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with students exhibiting behavioural challenges.
- Knowledge and understanding of effective behaviour management strategies.
- Team Teach or Positive Handling training would be advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A proactive and positive attitude towards supporting students with diverse needs.
