You’ll be supporting individuals in residential and supported living settings, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Providing personal care, companionship, and emotional support tailored to each individual’s needs.
- Supporting individuals with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and maintaining personal hygiene.
- Encouraging and empowering individuals to build life skills, develop independence, and achieve personal goals.
- Communicating effectively with families, colleagues, and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
- Providing emotional reassurance and crisis support, particularly for individuals with mental health or behavioural challenges.
- Maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where service users feel valued and heard.
- Contributing ideas and feedback to improve care practices and enhance service quality.
Requirements
- Experience within the care industry (or relevant transferable experience).
- Previous experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions, complex care needs, or challenging behaviours is an advantage.
- Strong ability to multi-task with good time management and attention to detail.
- A positive, caring, and compassionate personality with a genuine passion for helping others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Valid Right to Work in the UK.
- DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- Up-to-date Mandatory Training (training can be arranged if needed).
