Join Our Team as a Management Accountant!

Reports To: Finance Director

The Aulds Group of Companies is a long-standing, family-run business producing high quality frozen desserts and day-fresh bakery products.

We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team and provide accurate, timely and commercially focused financial support across the business.

This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

You will work closely with operational and senior management, turning financial information into clear insight, challenging performance and helping identify opportunities to improve profitability, control and efficiency.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing accurate monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments, sales reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Producing clear analysis and commentary that explains business performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and associated depreciation schedules.
  • Reviewing and challenging operational results to ensure financial information is complete and accurate.
  • Developing and maintaining weekly KPI reporting covering labour, materials, stock, wastage, debtors, and cash collection.
  • Presenting financial information in a clear and practical way that enables managers to control costs, identify opportunities and improve performance.
  • Working closely with non-finance managers to improve financial understanding, advise on the financial consequences of decisions and supporting better performance.
  • Supporting the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Reviewing capital expenditure proposals and supporting investment appraisals before submission to the Board.
  • Supporting year-end accounts, preparing reconciliations and schedules, and liaising with external auditors.
  • Processing online banking transactions in line with agreed controls and authorisation procedures.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to finance systems, reporting, and business processes.
  • Providing support and cover across the wider Finance team when required.

What We Are Looking For

  • Fully or Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ICAS, with a desire to continue progressing toward full qualification.
  • Previous management accounting experience within a commercial finance environment.
  • Proven experience of completing month-end processes and preparing journals and reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the confidence to interpret results, challenge performance and communicate findings clearly.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels, including non-finance teams.
  • Commercially aware, proactive, and comfortable identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience within food manufacturing or another fast-paced operational environment would be advantageous.

We are looking for someone who can combine strong financial control with a practical and commercially minded approach.

A fully qualified accountant would be welcomed, but we are equally interested in a strong part-qualified candidate who is ready to develop into the role.

Why Join Aulds?

  • A competitive salary and benefits, including pension, life insurance, and product discounts.
  • The opportunity to work closely with operational teams and senior leaders.
  • A role where your insight can directly influence performance and business decisions.
  • A supportive, forward-thinking company that values improvement and employee development.
  • A varied environment where no two days are the same.

If you are a commercially minded Management Accountant looking to develop your career and make a visible impact within a respected, family-run manufacturing business, we would love to hear from you.
