The purpose of this role is to assist in the daily running of the Maintenance department, ensuring that all M&C procedures and targets are met.
Key responsibilities as a Shift Engineer:
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to monitor and maintain systems and equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems. Minor items only, contractors will be called in when needed.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and schedule repairs without disrupting guest services.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs with the use of our systems, and inventory of supplies and tools within the department.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies in all maintenance operations.
Essential skills required:
- Proven experience as a maintenance engineer or similar role in the hospitality industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, management, and external vendors.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Relevant certifications or licenses in engineering or maintenance fields are desired.
