We work with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders and groundworkers to deliver above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions and hot and cold plastic plumbing products. The BIM & Product Data Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and delivering accurate BIM content and product data across digital platforms and specification tools. Working closely with Technical, Marketing, Specification and Product Management teams, the role ensures product information is up to date, compliant with relevant standards and regulations, and easily accessible to customers throughout the design and construction process.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain BIM content (Revit, IFC and other formats) for the Polypipe Building Products range.
- Ensure BIM objects comply with ISO 19650, BS EN standards and client requirements.
- Manage BIM libraries, including version control, updates and publication.
- Maintain accurate geometry, parameters and product data within BIM objects.
- Coordinate the collection, maintenance and publication of product data across digital platforms.
- Ensure product classifications, attributes and technical information remain accurate and consistent.
- Manage COBie data requirements and support asset‑management information needs.
- Support new product launches with timely publication of product information and technical documentation.
- Manage content on BIM and specification platforms, including BIMstore.
- Ensure all digital content is current, accurate and aligned with live product ranges.
- Support customers and internal teams with BIM content, specification and data queries.
- Monitor platform engagement and identify opportunities to improve content coverage.
- Act as the internal subject‑matter expert for BIM processes and product data standards.
- Support Technical Sales and Specification teams with BIM‑related enquiries.
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure consistency across product information and digital assets.
- Deliver training and guidance on BIM standards, processes and best practice.
- Stay up to date with BIM standards, industry developments and regulatory requirements.
- Drive improvements to BIM content creation, product data management and publishing processes.
- Monitor data quality and ensure accuracy across all platforms.
- Support compliance with the Building Safety Act, Golden Thread requirements and internal BIM standards.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in BIM coordination, product data management, technical content or a similar role within the construction or building products sector.
- Strong experience creating and managing BIM content in Autodesk Revit, including family creation and editing, with knowledge of IFC formats and open BIM workflows.
- Good understanding of BIM standards and frameworks, including ISO 19650 and industry best practice.
- Experience using BIM and specification platforms such as NBS Chorus, RIBA Product Selector, BIMobject or similar.
- Knowledge of COBie data, asset information management and classification systems such as Uniclass and NBS.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and product specifications, converting complex information into accurate digital content.
- Strong data management, analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Understanding of digital construction workflows, product compliance and the role of BIM in specification and purchasing decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and BIM‑related software; knowledge of Dynamo is advantageous.
