The Store Design Manager will play an integral part in the development and execution of Augustinus Bader’s global retail environments. This includes permanent store concepts, shop-in-shops, counters and pop-ups across department stores, boutiques and travel retail. This role will report directly to the Director of Store Design & Visual Merchandising and work alongside the Visual Merchandising Manager to ensure a seamless and immersive luxury brand experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of new store concepts and shop-in-shops.
- Oversee the creation of technical drawings, layouts and 3D renderings to ensure brand consistency and premium execution.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies and contractors to bring retail design concepts to life.
- Manage the store design guidelines to ensure consistency in execution across all markets and retail formats.
- Oversee the selection of materials, finishes and fixtures to uphold the brand’s luxury aesthetic while ensuring durability and sustainability.
- Conduct site visits and manage installations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
- Tender and evaluate global shopfitters comparing quality, cost and capability and build a library of preferred partners to ensure consistent, high-standard execution worldwide.
- Lead project management efforts, overseeing multiple store design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely execution, alignment with business objectives and effective cross-functional coordination.
- Partner with the Visual Merchandising Manager to ensure seamless integration of merchandising strategies within retail designs.
- Ensure all store designs align with local regulations, safety codes and landlord requirements in each market.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations in luxury retail design to continually evolve and elevate the brand’s retail presence.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in store design, architecture or interior design within the luxury beauty, skincare or fashion industries.
- Strong understanding of luxury retail environments, with experience in global store rollouts and retail expansion.
- Expertise in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or similar design software.
- Experience in managing external vendors, architects and contractors to ensure project execution meets brand and quality standards.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines and manage budgets effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.
- Passion for design, innovation and storytelling within the luxury retail space.
