What you’ll be doing
As a Salesforce Architect at Audley Travel, you will be accountable for the overall architecture and governance of our Salesforce platform. You will ensure that our Salesforce environments are designed and maintained according to best practices, scalable consumption models, and robust technical standards. This role will oversee technical change within Salesforce, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and business objectives. You will collaborate with stakeholders, delivery teams, and vendors to optimise platform performance, security, and integration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Platform Architecture Ownership: Define and maintain the Salesforce platform architecture, ensuring alignment with business as usual change and strategic roadmap projects.
- Best Practice Governance: Establish and enforce Salesforce development and configuration standards, including security, data integrity, error logging, and performance optimisation.
- Development & Environment Strategy: Define and maintain standards for Salesforce development tooling, CI/CD pipeline setup, automated testing frameworks, test data management, and sandbox strategy. Ensure robust deployment processes, version control, and environment governance to support efficient and secure delivery.
- Consumption Modelling: Design and monitor usage models for Salesforce licenses, storage, and API consumption to ensure cost efficiency and scalability.
- Technical Change Management: Lead impact assessments for proposed changes, manage architectural decision records, and oversee technical governance through leading a Technical Design Authority (TDA) for the platform.
- Architectural Reviews: Conduct design reviews for Salesforce-related projects, validating adherence to architectural principles and approved solution designs.
- Risk & Compliance: Identify risks related to platform scalability, security, and technical debt; maintain registers and ensure regular reviews.
- Vendor & Product Management: Engage with Salesforce and third-party vendors for technical due diligence and roadmap alignment.
- Innovation & Optimization: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Salesforce ecosystem to enhance business value and operational efficiency.
About you
You’re an experienced Solution Architect with strong Salesforce expertise, including a strong background in designing solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and related products. You bring a deep understanding of platform capabilities, limitations, and best‑practice design principles.
Other key experience needed:
- Experience in designing scalable, secure, and integrated Salesforce solutions.
- Knowledge of API integration patterns and middleware for Salesforce connectivity.
- Familiarity with license and consumption modelling within Salesforce environments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to influence at all levels.
- Commercial awareness and ability to align technical decisions with business objectives.
- In‑depth knowledge of security by design principles within Salesforce.
- Good understanding of Microsoft 365 including MS Office, Teams, SharePoint and Outlook.
