The role

You will be responsible for delivering operational HR support across the employee lifecycle, providing an effective, efficient and value add people focused service, while ensuring compliance with UK employment law and HR best practice. Working closely with line managers, HRBPs and the wider HR team, you will advise on employee relations matters, develop and maintain HR policies, and drive continuous improvement in HR processes to support business performance and employee engagement. This role is critical in ensuring a consistent, fair and legally compliant approach to managing people across all business functions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead on all employee relations casework including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, occupational health, performance management and appeals.
  • Provide coaching and support to line managers to enable effective people management and ensure fair and legally compliant outcomes.
  • Lead on the review, development and implementation of HR policies and processes ensuring alignment with UK employment legislation, industry best practice and business needs.
  • Provide proactive and expert HR advice to managers in the application of core HR policies, processes, terms and conditions.
  • Manage third party system vendors to ensure service levels are delivered and systems are working as required.
  • Conduct payroll checks to provide accurate and timely data ensuring all changes are processed correctly and in line with payroll deadlines.
  • Manage annual reward activities (e.g. salary review, bonus plans) in conjunction with the HRBP and Finance team.
  • Work closely with external benefits providers to ensure seamless administration of all benefits.

What we are looking for:

You will be an experienced HR professional with a strong background in HR operations and a proven track record of managing varied employee relations cases through the full case lifecycle. You will have an in-depth knowledge of UK Employment law and thorough understanding of HR best practice.

Additional experience:

  • Proven and progressive HR operational experience in a high growth, fast-paced and global company.
  • A strong track record of managing a high and varied caseload of employee relations issues.
  • Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Skilled in drafting HR documents and policies across the employee lifecycle and improving HR processes.
  • Experience of working closely with a team of HRBPs and collaborating with HR centres of excellence.
  • Experience of working with HR systems to manage and analyse employee data and run reports.
  • Benefits management experience, including payroll checks.
  • Experience of managing and leading HR projects and initiatives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • An effective practitioner with a solid track record of delivering business results and benefits.
  • Confident in influencing, coaching and advising managers and senior leaders.
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and passionate about doing the right thing for our people and the business.
  • Ability to establish relationships with all levels of an organisation, while gaining and maintaining credibility.
  • An adaptable team player with a high level of confidentiality who remains positive, calm and resilient during times of change and pressure.
