You'll keep the care home maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene — creating a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for residents, staff and visitors.
What you'll do
- Clean residents' rooms and communal areas to a high standard, always respecting residents' privacy, preferences and dignity.
- Support a homely, respectful and welcoming environment.
- Follow cleaning schedules, COSHH regulations and infection control protocols, using cleaning products and equipment safely and in line with training.
- Maintain cleanliness across bedrooms, lounges, bathrooms and kitchens, and assist with deep cleaning as part of regular infection control.
- Dispose of waste in line with infection control procedures.
- Report maintenance issues or hazards promptly, and work collaboratively with colleagues to meet residents' needs.
- Complete required training including infection control and health & safety, and take part in supervisions and team meetings.
What you'll need
- Understanding of the importance of cleanliness and infection control.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- A respectful, reliable and compassionate attitude.
- Attention to detail and high standards of hygiene.
- Enhanced DBS check and the right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a cleaning or domestic role.
- Knowledge of COSHH and infection control in care settings.
- Experience working in a care home or similar environment.
