A well-known media company is seeking a Legal Compliance Manager to join their Risk Management function in Birmingham City Centre, requiring 2 days per week in the office.
Reporting directly to the Head of Risk Management, you will be responsible for the management, monitoring, and oversight of several key compliance areas, as well as conducting assurance activities. You will work closely with the business as an advisor to guide remediation where inefficiencies are found. Additionally, you will conduct horizon scanning to advise the business on upcoming changes to the legislative landscape and enable effective implementation of compliance policies and programmes. Monthly reports for the Board will also be required.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, monitor, and oversee compliance areas (e.g., Anti-bribery & Corruption, Modern Slavery, Financial Crime, and Tax).
- Conduct assurance activities and act as an advisor to guide remediation within the business.
- Conduct horizon scanning to advise on upcoming legislative changes and enable implementation of compliance policies & programmes.
- Produce monthly reports for the Board.
Qualifications:
- Strong Legal Compliance experience in a professional services or in-house environment — candidates from Financial Services will not be considered.
- Holding a relevant qualification (e.g., ICA) or having a Law background is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and report writing skills.
- Willingness to work from the Birmingham city centre office 2 days/week.
