Our client is a specialist equipment rental company that supplies cutting-edge technologies to feature films, high-end television, commercials, and, increasingly, live and broadcast-style productions. They pride themselves on moving fast, solving complex technical challenges, and delivering outstanding support to the industry's most ambitious projects. As the broadcast world evolves to embrace more cinematic workflows, they are expanding their services to meet this demand. This role plays a key part in that growth, offering the chance to work at the intersection of RF, IP, colour workflows, and live broadcast infrastructure.

We're looking for a Broadcast Technical Supervisor to join our growing technical team and support this expansion into the broadcast and live production sector. The role is primarily office-based near High Wycombe, but as this is a new and evolving service line, the level of on-site work required may vary and is currently hard to predict. This position is ideal for someone who is deeply passionate about broadcast technology, thrives on problem-solving, and enjoys staying on the cutting edge of industry innovation. You'll need a broad technical foundation spanning RF systems, IP-based signal flow, vision and colour workflows, and modern audio protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design, setup, and testing of RF and IP-based transmission and monitoring systems for live production environments.
  • Interpret and assist in building complex signal flow diagrams, integrating both baseband (e.g. SDI) and IP infrastructure.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support for live deployments as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineers and clients to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Maintain quality control across audio, video, and transmission workflows, including colour pipelines (e.g. log formats, HDR).
  • Assist with internal system maintenance and workflow documentation.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and standards (e.g. SMPTE ST 2110, AES67, NMOS, Dante, Dolby Vision).
  • Participate in R&D and attend trade shows to support the technical evolution.
  • Contribute to workflow development for remote and hybrid productions.
  • Support sound workflows where relevant, including RF coordination and Bolero comms system integration.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in a live broadcast, RF engineering, or technical broadcast role (either studio or field-based).
  • Hands-on experience with wireless video transmission systems, including RF camera links, COFDM systems, and frequency coordination.
  • Understanding of IP-based media infrastructure, including ST 2110, AES67, PTP, and VLANs.
  • Awareness of colour workflows (e.g. Log gamma, LUTs, HDR, SDR, Dolby Vision).
  • Familiarity with Dante audio networking and NMOS device control standards.
  • Exposure to remote production or distributed workflow setups.
  • Comfortable interpreting and troubleshooting complex signal flows across baseband and IP layers.
  • Awareness of vision mixing systems and broadcast audio/video QC standards.
  • Problem-solver with a proactive mindset and strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and work flexibly to support live deployments.
UK Driving License - EssentialDesirable (Not Essential)
  • Knowledge of sound guarantee workflows and Bolero systems.
  • Experience with vision shading, waveform/vectorscope operation, or multiview monitoring.
Working Conditions
  • Full-time role
  • 42.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday
  • While the role is primarily office-based, some travel and on-site support will be required depending on project needs. The level of this commitment may vary as our broadcast services evolve.
  • 25 days annual leave plus UK bank holidays.
Perks and Benefits
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Employee of the Month Award
  • 2 unpaid days annually for volunteering
  • Regular staff socials and celebrations
