About the Company
Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing Audio Visual Integrator delivering innovative workplace technology solutions to corporate, commercial, education, hospitality and public sector clients across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Audio Visual Installation Engineer to join their delivery team, working on a range of exciting projects from high-end boardrooms and meeting spaces through to large-scale integrated AV deployments.
The Role
As an AV Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, termination, testing and commissioning support of professional audio visual systems. You will work alongside project managers, programmers and commissioning engineers to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards, on time and within budget. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic engineer looking to work with cutting-edge collaboration technologies and high-profile clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of professional AV systems including displays, projectors, video walls, speakers, microphones and control systems.
- Rack building, dressing and wiring to company standards.
- Installation and termination of structured cabling including Cat5e, Cat6 and fibre.
- First and second fix installation works.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics and scope documents.
- Testing installed systems and assisting with commissioning activities.
- Diagnosing and resolving installation issues on-site.
- Maintaining a safe and organised working environment in accordance with company and client health and safety procedures.
- Liaising with clients, contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Completing site documentation, snagging lists and handover paperwork.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience working within the professional Audio Visual industry.
- Strong understanding of AV installation methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with rack building and cable termination.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and wiring schematics.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel and stay away when required.
Desirable
- Experience with Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Shure, Logitech, Cisco or Microsoft Teams Rooms technologies.
- ECS or CSCS Card.
- IPAF and PASMA certifications.
- CTS certification or working towards AVIXA accreditation.
