Audio Visual & Electrical Services Ltd is looking for a fully qualified electrician to join our team, working across sites in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, as well as Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems across various projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your electrical expertise in a dynamic environment, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards. The role will involve:

  • Travelling to different locations to carry out commercial and domestic work. Some work may take us out of area therefore some travel may be required, and on rare occasions, working away from home may be necessary.
  • Working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Following and implementing all Health and Safety procedures, including reporting of all accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances.
  • Completing all relevant paperwork to a high standard.
  • Providing professional assessments and advice to our customers, and building professional relationships across each of our sites.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
  • Contributing to the training and development of apprentices and/or co-workers.

All elements of electrical works including but not limited to:

  • Installing, repairing, maintaining and testing electrical systems.
  • Fault finding, diagnosis and undertaking essential repairs.
  • Electrical isolation.
  • Fitting conduit, containment and trunking.
  • Fixed wire testing (EICR).
  • Domestic insurance repairs.
  • EV charging points.
  • New installations.
  • Re‑wires, both partial and full.
  • Installation/replacement of fuse boards.
  • Emergency light testing.
  • CCTV.
  • Access control.
  • Network cable installation and testing.

Some audio‑visual works including but not limited to:

  • Stage testing.
  • Installation of stage lighting and sound systems.
  • Installation of interactive screens.
  • Installation of projectors.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Proven experience as an Electrician within commercial or industrial settings.
  • City and Guilds Level 2 2365 diploma in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
  • City and Guilds Level 3 2365 diploma in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
  • Level 3 NVQ Electrical Installations 2357 or equivalent.
  • City and Guilds 2382 (18th Edition).
  • AM2.
  • City and Guilds 2391-52 Inspection and Testing or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Clear enhanced DBS.
  • Current ECS card.
  • Own hand tools.
  • PASMA.
  • IPAF.
  • City and Guilds 2921 Electric Vehicle Charging or equivalent.

Salary – negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.

Start date – as soon as possible.

Company van and fuel card (business use only).

28 days holiday (including bank holidays).

PPE and uniform provided.

Working hours will be 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Some of our clients request that we work outside of their operating hours meaning some late shifts are required therefore, the successful candidate should be flexible.
