AUDIO NETWORK IS A GLOBAL MUSIC COMPANY CREATING ORIGINAL, HIGH-QUALITY MUSIC FOR USE IN TV, FILM, BRANDS AND ENTERPRISES. WITH A ROSTER OF OVER 1,000 ARTISTS AND A CATALOGUE OF OVER 300,000 TRACKS ACROSS OVER 800 GENRES – WE’RE HELPING OUR CUSTOMERS FIND THE PERFECT TRACK TO TELL THEIR STORY.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for an emotionally intelligent developer who loves to build products that are critical to our customers’ work. We make the music that soundtracks their stories - we are looking for a developer who understands that mission and wants to support it through excellent software development.
You should be an engineer who loves, and is inspired by, your craft and its potential and thinks carefully about architecture, performance, and the systems beneath the surface, not just the code in front of you. You are fluent in JavaScript and comfortable working across the full front-end stack, but hungry to go deeper into tooling, infrastructure, and the decisions that shape how a product is built. You are curious and love being collaborative, pair programming, driving your code by tests, and you get genuine satisfaction from teaching and learning with others.
The Role
We are a small, tight-knit team with everything we need to ship great products - product, design, user research, engineering, ops, and a shared sense of ownership. The structure is flat and the culture is trusting. You will have a real say in what gets built and how, and the people around you will push you to do your best work.
As befits a global music company, we have a busy and exciting product roadmap of problems that our artists and editors need us to solve, which will give you the opportunity to work in different areas of the product and across different technologies - everything we build ultimately serves those who use our music.
The problems we focus on every day:
- Helping customers find the right music for their productions - through faceted search, AI-powered search, briefs, music discovery content, and more. Getting this right is at the heart of everything we do.
- Providing the best possible experience for customers to get our music into their edit - making it seamless to try tracks alongside real video projects.
- Demystifying music licensing - taking something complex and often intimidating and making it clear, simple, and confidence-inspiring for our customers.
Key Technologies
Knowing some of these is a great advantage, but we are happy for you to learn them on the job. Typically, successful applicants cover around 60% of these so if you have other things in your toolkit, that's great too. We’d love to know how you’ve been using AI in your dev work - we use Cursor but we are keen to learn from you if you’ve used other tools.
- Languages: TypeScript/JavaScript
- Frameworks: React, Next.js
- Tools: TeamCity
- Infrastructure: Vercel, AWS Serverless (Lambda, API Gateway)
- Databases: SQL Server, Algolia
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Remuneration will be dependant on experience. Discretionary bonus. Hybrid working pattern, 3 mandatory days in the office – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Summer hours on Fridays (June to early Sept) – non contractual. 25 days holiday per annum plus 8 public holidays. Private Healthcare. Dental plan. Life insurance. Pension. Employee Assistance Programme. Volunteering opportunities. Season Ticket Loan. Cycle to work scheme.
