About this role
The Audible Books Content Acquisition Team EU owns the full cycle business relationships with the authors, writers, content creators, literary agents and recognized IP brands that serve as Audible's top global creators in the literary space. In this role you'll generate, negotiate, and close a high volume of new deals and deal renewals for audio original and book-based audio content with prospective and current top partners, at terms that benefit Audible customers. You'll have responsibility for acquired content, ensure successful post-signing go to market planning across the relevant teams at Audible and Amazon, and contribute to defining strategic development affecting Audible's overall growth and success. This role is open through a 14-month contract.
Responsibilities
- Maintain strong relationships with existing content partners
- Independently manage, prioritize, and execute high volume deal flow
- Structure, negotiate, and execute deals supporting Audible's content strategy
- Identify and prepare projects for internal support and valuation
- Prepare data, budgets, P&Ls, and draft proposed deal terms
- Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders across multiple teams
- Track and communicate deal terms within the organization
- Provide first line enforcement of deal terms when necessary
- Manage comprehensive EU renewal licensing processes
- Maintain and update archive management systems
- Conduct business reviews of existing content licenses
- Negotiate renewal terms and conditions
- Collaborate with finance and operations on licensing metrics
- Process and manage incoming book submissions
- Compile detailed pitch support materials
- Analyze and present performance data for acquisition decisions
- Provide support to the EU5 Audible Books team
- Assist with cross-regional licensing initiatives
- Support collaborative projects and administrative processes

Qualifications
- Experience and proven success in a book publishing, agency, content, media rights, business development, or digital media department/company
- Experience negotiating complex agreements with a firm understanding of legal terminology and reasoning
- Experience in and understanding of both the digital and traditional media spaces
- Experience in contract management and data analysis tools
- Experience operating in a high-energy, high-intensity and rapidly evolving environment
- Experience working with cross functional teams under aggressive deadlines
- Business fluency in English
