The Trainee Engineer will support site-based engineering activities while developing technical competence under supervision, in line with the company Competence Framework. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience on a major UK light rail infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with setting out, surveys, and site measurements
- Support inspections and quality assurance documentation
- Assist with as-built records and site documentation
- Learn and apply company engineering standards and safety systems
- Maintain accurate site records and engineering diaries
- Proactively identify and raise hazards, close calls, and near misses
Ideal Candidate
- Educated to HNC, HND, or Degree level in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (or working towards)
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Positive, safety-focused attitude
- Ability to work effectively as part of a site team
