We are looking to grow our Managed Environments Arboriculture Department to work on various projects throughout the UK, this includes; HS2, Midlands Metro Alliance, Highways Projects and also large infrastructure projects.
As a Chainsaw Operative/Groundworker at RSS Infrastructure, you will be an essential part of a dynamic team responsible for performing various tree & de-vegetation activities, supporting the Arborist Climber, Machine Operators and Project Lead s.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Operate hand held equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with current regulations.
- Perform tree removal and vegetation clearance tasks.
- Demonstrate solid understanding of working in and around machinery and active work sites.
- Consider occupational and environmental risks to members of the workforce and the public.
- Maintain a healthy working relationship with Principal Contractors and/or Contractors, obtaining future work plans to assist growth.
- Follow project plans and safety guidelines stated within RAMS & POWRA.
- Maintain and inspect equipment regularly to comply with PUWER.
- Work as part of a team to complete projects and tasks in a timely manner.
- Excellent understanding of tree identification & characteristics.
- Work with industry best practices and deliver excellent standards of work.
- Ensuring to assist Site Supervisor and colleagues.
Role Requirements:
- Hold NPTC CS30, CS31.
- In date CSCS card (Including ROLO).
- Brush Cutter/Strimmer.
- First Aid at Work or Forestry First Aid Certificate.
- Full Clean UK Drivers Licence. (B+E Towing) Is desirable.
It is desirable that the candidate hold the following: (These are not essential as training will be provided for suitable candidate).
- Personal Track Safety (PTS).
- Wood Chipper.
- MEWP.
- Aerial Rescue.
- Advantageous to have had previous experience with working alongside heavy plant & machinery.
- Other associated training courses.
