Learning and Development Specialist

We are working with a well-known, European leading organisation on the lookout for a Learning and Development Specialist to join their team in Warwick.

This Learning and Development Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering engaging learning programmes that support the Company’s commercial objectives and enhance employee and customer capability.

The role combines technical expertise across company and industry products with excellent training and instructional design skills.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, the Learning and Development Specialist will create and deliver both product and non-product training, ensuring learning programmes remain current, engaging and aligned with business needs.

This role does not have direct line management responsibility but requires the ability to influence, coach and build strong relationships across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learning & Development
  • Design, develop and deliver engaging training programmes that support the development of internal colleagues, while providing training to external customers on an occasional basis as business needs require
  • Deliver face-to-face, virtual and practical hands-on training sessions
  • Adapt training styles to suit different audiences and learning preferences
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve learning programmes
  • Content Development
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of competitor products and solutions, ensuring training equips colleagues with the knowledge and confidence to articulate unique selling points and competitive advantages

* Create and maintain high-quality learning materials including

  • Power Point presentations
  • Trainer guides
  • Delegate workbooks
  • Technical manuals
  • Installation guides
  • Videos
  • E-learning modules
  • Knowledge assessments
  • The role will primarily focus on product training, whilst also requiring the development of non-product learning programmes to support organisational and business objectives.

To this end you will develop new learning programmes to support business priorities, including but not limited to the following:

  • Product & Technical Training
  • Deliver technical product training across the business portfolio
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of company products and installation methods
  • Keep up to date with developments within the industry
  • Support product launches with new training materials and delivery
  • Where required develop UK specific installation/fitting guides to build a portfolio of “how to” installation support content that can be shared via Social Media

  • Identify learning needs and recommend suitable solutions by utilising close relationships internally with Sales, Marketing, Technical, Product Management and externally with merchants, installers, specification teams and customers

  • Gather learner feedback and measure training effectiveness
  • Review and update training materials regularly
  • Identify opportunities to introduce new learning technologies and methodologies
  • Be responsible for all product training areas, tools and aids e. g. the Academy, equipment, on-line training material etc.

  • Experience delivering professional training to a variety of audiences
  • Experience creating learning materials from scratch
  • Experience designing engaging presentations and learning resources
  • Experience facilitating both classroom and virtual training
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of UK Building Regulations
  • Experience delivering technical product training
  • Experience developing e-learning

  • Using and creating content on Learning Management Systems
