We are working with an extremely well-known, industry leading organisation on the lookout for an HR Generalist to join their team in Somerset for a 10-month FTC. This HR Generalist will be responsible for providing HR advice and guidance on a range of matters to all employees across the business. Assisting the Head of HR across all aspects of HR that ultimately support the overall business strategy. This includes but is not limited to training, recruitment, employee engagement, wellbeing, DE&I, appraisal process, performance management, and any other projects that may arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor to employees, providing expert guidance and support on various HR matters
- Handle employee relations issues, including disciplinary and grievance procedures, in a fair and compassionate manner, acting as a note taker in some confidential meetings including employee relations
- Conduct thorough investigations, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
- Advise clients on HR policies, procedures, and best practices to promote a supportive and inclusive work environment
- Stay up-to-date with relevant employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide accurate advice
- Continuously monitor, write, and review HR policies and processes, consulting and implementing changes where necessary
- Maintain and update all paperwork for personnel electronic files, which includes new starter paperwork, offer letters and contract of employments, absence forms and any other ad hoc paperwork
- Manage the Human Resources email box and answer any colleagues queries
- Support the Head of HR in managing the Recruitment process including job adverts, collation of CVs, updating the vacancies on the communication platform, responding to applicants directly, liaison with recruitment agencies, advertisements, interviews, and selection
- Support the day-to-day management of the Reward Gateway communications platform including updating news columns, HR policies, starters and leavers access and any other updates necessary
- Provide reports and data to support with understanding key HR data
- Be a key user of the ADP payroll system to update sickness, absence and holiday
- Conduct new starter inductions, including generating employment contracts and T&Cs
- Provide first-line advice on current and existing employee benefits
- Assist where necessary in the implementation of any wider business projects as required
- Any other duties as requested by line manager
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Possess a CIPD Level 5 qualification, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of HR principles and best practice
- Proven experience in a similar HR advisory role, showcasing your ability to deliver exceptional service to a diverse employee base
- Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and the ability to apply it effectively to various HR situations
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex HR issues
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build strong relationships with all employees, becoming a trusted advisor
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion and employee well-being
- A good understanding of all aspects of HR discipline e.g., employment law, L&D and recruitment/selection
- The ability to maintain confidentiality, consistently acting with discretion and diplomacy
- A positive and motivated individual; with a proactive and positive approach to tasks and outcomes
- High level of organisational skills, with the flexibility to adapt
- Professional communication skills both written and verbal; numerate and literate; with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficient IT and Reporting skills
- Experience in Manufacturing preferred but not essential
