We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Jewellery Cataloguer / Coordinator. You will be the bridge between our valuers, customers, and our sales platforms. You will ensure every piece of jewellery is accurately described, looks beautiful and is ready to market. You will be responsible for our inventory from consignment to auction and onwards to our bidders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Coordinate and execute the movement of items through the "auction pipeline"—from initial receipt and take in, to photography, cataloguing, and dispatch of items to their new homes.
- Data Integrity: Maintain precise records in our database, ensuring all specifications (descriptions, weights, dimensions, conditions) are error-free.
- Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with customers, the valuation team and photography to ensure key details are captured and customer expectations are met.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential
- Precision: An eagle eye for detail—you will spot the tiny hallmark or the slight stone chip that others miss.
- Efficiency: Ability to manage high volumes of inventory while meeting strict deadlines.
- Strong administrative skills: Dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s you will ensure that our high value inventory is accounted for at all stages in the cataloguing process.
- Tech Savvy: Will be at home using IT packages, working with our inventory management software.
Nice to have
- Expertise: Experience in the jewellery or auction industry. Solid knowledge of gemstones, precious metals, and jewellery history (FGA/DGA or GIA qualifications are a major plus but not essential).
