Kaiako – Epsom South Kindergarten Ngā Tamariki Puāwai o Tāmaki | Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA) is committed to excellence in early childhood education and to upholding the philosophy of the kindergarten movement through a 100% qualified teaching workforce. We are seeking a passionate and values-driven kaiako to join our experienced team at Epsom South Kindergarten.

About Epsom South Kindergarten

Epsom South Kindergarten reflects its spacious, nature rich community. Our expansive outdoor environment offers generous room for exploration, large established trees and thriving gardens that invite hands-on learning. As a proud Enviroschool, sustainability is embedded in our daily practice. Tamariki learn to become kaitiaki through authentic experiences such as gardening, orchard harvesting, composting and garden-to-table learning. We foster curiosity about the natural world and nurture tamariki to understand their role in caring for it. Established in 1958, our trusted and experienced team works closely with whānau to provide engaging, play-based learning with a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, independence and wellbeing. We are also recognised as a Healthy Heart kindergarten, promoting healthy food choices and active lifestyles.

  • Contribute confidently to our Enviroschool kaupapa and sustainability focus
  • Support literacy, numeracy and independence through meaningful play-based learning

  • Deliver high-quality planning, assessment and documentation

Salary and employment conditions for this position are in accordance with the relevant Kindergarten Teachers’ Collective Agreement.
