  • check the quality, freshness and condition of ingredients before use
  • maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked workstation throughout each shift
  • follow all food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures
  • handle and store food correctly, including labelling, date rotation and temperature monitoring
  • communicate clearly with front-of-house colleagues regarding orders, waiting times, dietary requirements and unavailable items
  • respond carefully to special requests, allergies and dietary requirements, following the correct procedures
  • monitor stock levels and inform the kitchen manager when ingredients or supplies need to be reordered
  • help receive and correctly store food deliveries
  • minimise food waste by following preparation levels, portion controls and stock-rotation procedures
  • clean kitchen equipment, work surfaces and storage areas to the required standard
  • complete opening, closing and daily cleaning duties
  • report any damaged equipment, maintenance concerns or food safety issues promptly
  • support other members of the kitchen team during busy periods
  • maintain a professional, positive and calm approach in a busy café environment.

To be suitable for this role you will:

  • have some prior kitchen experience as a prep chef, trainee or commis chef or experience in the catering industry.
  • be reliable and have a positive approach to team work.
  • be passionate about good food and delighting your guests
  • look for further development and training opportunities in the kitchen

Your standard working week will be five days over seven. Shifts will be mainly during the daytime and will include weekends, although some evening shifts will also be needed. Some flexibility to work across the Cafe and the Resort F+B outlets will be required.

Please note the start date for this position in November.
