Job Summary
Auburn University Recreation and Wellness Center is currently seeking applicants for the Assistant Registered Dietitian – Nutritionist.
Temporary Employment Services ( TES ), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
- Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
- Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
- Assistance with special projects
- Seasonal work

Essential Functions
- Assist lead RDN with client coverage and scheduling; monitor client progress in absence of primary RDN .
- Counsel clients on nutrition related to medical nutrition therapy, disease management and prevention, food allergies, intolerances, sports nutrition, and eating disorders/disordered eating; develop general and individualized meal plans per clients’ needs.
- Perform computerized dietary analysis of food records (Nutritionist Pro)
- Conduct body composition testing and/or weight checks.
- Lead grocery store tours and dining hall tours.
- Develop topic-specific presentations and educational handouts for various audiences.
- Assist with outreach to the campus community at large; fulfill requests from various departments, residence halls, student organizations, and Greek-Life chapters for presentations.
- Assist with development of nutrition programming for special events on campus.
- Contribute to marketing development (i.e. social media materials, website information, campus networking).

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field
- Licensed Dietitian in the state of Alabama
Desired Qualifications
- Desired to learn and grow in the professional practice of a Registered Dietitian -Nutritionist with an inclusive health-focused treatment philosophy in the areas of food procurement and preparation skills, disease prevention, allergies, food sensitivities, eating disorders, and metabolic conditions such as diabetes.
- Must be RD eligible; position contingent upon RD eligible status
- Must be LD eligible, position contingent on LD status
Salary Range
Salary Range $25.00/hourly
