Alabama Extension | Operation Grow
The Alabama Extension Operation Grow HELP Program is seeking a motivated undergraduate or graduate student to join our team. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain long-term experience in agricultural research and Extension.
Operation Grow provides special emphasis on the training needs of military veterans interested in agriculture for health and employment benefits. Alabama Beginning Farmer is led by the Alabama Extension commercial horticulture team. Overall, Operation Grow supports grassroots educational and networking efforts that are inclusive of all veterans and their families with universal access to information and resources.
This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in building a long-term career in agriculture, research, or Extension through involvement in a multifaceted, team-oriented program.
Essential Functions
This student will work as a project assistant with tasks that include:
- Operates standard office equipment such as personal computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
- Sets up and maintains files and records.
- Performs clerical responsibilities pertaining to program reports, newsletters, filing and promotional materials related to Operation Grow/Beginning Farmer.

- Currently enrolled as an Auburn University student.
- Available for some travel to farms and ACES events around the state of Alabama.
- Familiarity with Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
