Job Summary
The Student Assistant Instructional Designer assists with designing and developing online courses that meet WCAG2.1AA Standards.
Responsibilities
- Transfer content from instructor resources onto Canvas page(s)
- Create video transcript PDF files
- Embed videos/audios and associated transcripts
- Develop Audio Description Tracks where necessary
- Write appropriate Alt Text as needed for graphics
- Communicate regularly with the Instructional Designer and team members regarding work tasks and progress

Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a student at Auburn University.
- Able to work 10–20 hours per week, Monday–Friday between 7:45 am–4:45 pm during fall and spring semesters (hours will be built around applicant’s class schedule).
- Able to work 20–30 hours per week through summer semester.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Familiarity with basic Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
- Able to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Canvas or other learning management system (LMS).
- Able to work with Adobe PDFs.
- Comfortable typing and working with Microsoft Office programs: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Minimum commitment of three semesters.
Pay Rate
$10.00–$11.00 per hour
Work Hours
Up to 20 hours per week during regular semesters; up to 30 hours per week during summer.
