Auburn University Libraries is seeking applicants for the position of Student Assistant to assist faculty and staff with daily library operations in the Innovation & Research Commons (I&RC) MakerSpace and VR Space.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist users with VR equipment.
  • Assist with VR project development.
  • Assist with 3D printing jobs submitted by users.
  • Assist with 3D printing design using computer-aided design software.
  • Assist with other MakerSpace projects as assigned.
  • Assist in cleaning and tidying the MakerSpace.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrolled student at Auburn University.
  • Interest in public service and delivery of quality customer service.
  • Be willing to work as a team member while interacting with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Dependability, multi-tasking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, balancing, hearing, handling objects with hands, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with 3D printing technology, VR development, computer-aided design software, or other maker technologies.

Pay Rate: $9.00/hour

Work Hours: Students will work up to 20 hours per week depending on availability during the hours of 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
