Job Summary

The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Student Animal Care / Weekend Nursery Worker to work weekend & holidays. This candidate will perform a variety of tasks related to animal care.

This position will work between 8 to 10-hour days on Saturday and Sunday between 6:30am and 4:00pm and will be required to work holidays. More days will be added depending on holiday schedule. Hours and days subject to change.

Essential Functions

  • Independently perform a variety of animal care husbandry duties like feeding, watering, grooming
  • Cleaning the nursery
  • Assist with animal treatments according to prescribed instruction
  • Assist with Radiographs
  • Update health/treatment records
  • Maternal care of dams and neonatal care of puppies
  • Transport animals to appointments
  • May assist in canine whelping
  • May participate in canine exercise and enrichment activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Be able to lift 50+ pounds
  • Have a current tetanus shot
