Job Summary
The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering has partnered with The Boeing Company to create a unique work opportunity through the Industry Design Experience for Auburn Students ( IDEAS ) Program. This program allows students to continue progressing toward their degree while gaining practical, real world job experience. We now have the opportunity to add select positions for full-time onsite work on contracts with The Boeing Company in Huntsville.
Currently, we are seeking multiple candidates to assist our space and aircraft program contracts with The Boeing Company.
The position will commence mid-May and is expected to last through the Summer semester. During Summer 2026 the position will be 100% onsite at the Boeing facility in Huntsville, AL. The position could produce an additional semester located in Auburn, AL for the Fall 2026 semester allowing the student to resume taking classes and work part time. The position is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Essential Functions
Engineering design and structural analysis, sizing calculations, finite element modelling, and official engineering documentation in support of various projects for a large defense and aerospace contractor.

Minimum Qualifications
Auburn University Engineering Student
Ideal candidates would meet the following criteria:
β Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering majors
β Minimum GPA of 3.0
β Graduating in Fall 2026 or later
β Are a US Citizen
And have completed one or more of the following courses:
β MECH 3120 Mechanics of Materials,
β ENGR 2070 Mechanics of Materials, or
β CIVL 3610 Structural Analysis.
