Aubay is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to join our global client in the Financial Services sector. This role requires someone passionate about delivering high-quality solutions across the full project lifecycle - from ideation through to transition and handover. The ideal candidate will be a strong collaborator, capable of connecting the dots between scope, product, requirements, architecture/design, cross-functional delivery teams, end-to-end planning, and governance.
We're looking for someone who excels in requirement gathering, business process mapping, stakeholder management, thrives under pressure, and can motivate both themselves and others to achieve results in complex environments. This role requires the successful candidate to be onsite in Belfast three days a week.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5-8 years of experience as a Business Analyst (or similar role) working on complex programmes/projects
- Experience working in Financial Services
- Broad knowledge of IT platforms and technologies
- Knowledge of Software Application Development in both Waterfall & Agile
- Self-starter who will work on their own initiative and drive others
- Delivery-focused / results-driven with effective problem-solving and leadership skills
- Effective risk assessment and management
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management ability
- Strong MS Office Product skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
- Working knowledge of JIRA
- Agile delivery experience including working knowledge of Agile sprint ceremonies
- Previous experience with cloud architecture and/or migration on-prem to cloud
- Experience of leading and delivering requirements for an external partner
Key Role Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse, and prioritise business requirements (using MoSCoW), translating them into clear functional specifications
- Facilitate workshops and engage stakeholders to elicit, challenge, and validate requirements and their business impact
- Act as the main point of contact between business stakeholders, development teams, and third parties throughout the project lifecycle
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal departments
- Analyse and document business processes and workflows, and obtain sign-off from stakeholders
- Support the Request for Service (RS) initiator and ensure the RS process is followed
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and architecture teams to provide accurate estimates
- Design and execute test scenarios and scripts in collaboration with the test team
- Manage change requests to ensure alignment with project plans and agreed deadlines
- Produce regular reports for the project manager on progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and resource needs
