Aubay is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to join a leading energy client’s team who will conceptualize and design data foundations and end-to-end solutions, including data platforms, to maximize value from data. The role promotes a data-driven culture across IT teams and wider business stakeholders, acting as a subject matter expert and thought partner in defining the vision and data strategy for robust, future-ready IT solutions.
- AWS, Azure, SAP
- Mastery of data modeling techniques
- Skilled in data ingestion, integration, and transformation using modern tools (Data Factory, Databricks, SQL DB, Synapse, Glue, Airflow, Kinesis, Redshift)
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tooling: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, SonarQube, PyTest
- Demonstrated experience in technical documentation and maintaining high-quality solution documentation
- Experience in project management or leading Agile/Scrum teams
- Experience with financial or operational planning tools (e.g., SAP BPC)
- Experience contributing to enterprise-scale data transformation projects
- Knowledge of trading, supply, or energy domain data models
- Design and deliver scalable, cloud-based data engineering solutions
- Lead efforts to modernize data platforms, including migration of legacy systems to cloud infrastructure
- Manage data ingestion, integration, and transformation workflows while ensuring high standards of data quality, governance, and performance
