Aubay UK is seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer (AI & Data Platforms) to join a high-performing application development team responsible for building modern, scalable, data-driven applications within a complex Trading & Supply environment.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong expertise across both front-end and back-end development, with particular focus on React, TypeScript, Azure, Databricks, .NET and/or Python. The successful candidate will work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through to development, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.

The role also offers the opportunity to work with modern AI technologies, including Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI-assisted software engineering, and agentic application patterns. As a senior member of the team, you will contribute to technical strategy, mentor engineers, and help establish best practices across application development, AI engineering, and cloud-native delivery.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong commercial experience developing production applications using React and TypeScript
  • Strong back-end development experience using .NET/C# and/or Python
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and data platform integrations
  • Experience with both .NET and Python development
  • Experience building AI-enabled or agentic applications
  • Experience with Azure AI Services, OpenAI, LangChain, or similar platforms
  • Experience designing and developing secure REST APIs and enterprise integrations
  • Strong understanding of SQL, relational databases, and data-intensive applications
  • Experience with Git-based development practices, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools
  • Understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI-enabled application patterns
  • Experience contributing to technical design, architecture discussions, and production support
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector search, and AI observability
  • Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, or serverless technologies
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and cloud automation practices
  • Experience within commodities trading, analytics, data, or complex enterprise environments
  • Experience mentoring engineers and supporting technical leadership activities
  • Experience with GraphQL and modern API design approaches

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and support modern full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, .NET, and/or Python
  • Build and maintain secure APIs, integrations, and data-driven services leveraging Azure and Databricks
  • Develop AI-enabled application capabilities using LLMs, Generative AI, and agentic application patterns where appropriate
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, business stakeholders, architects, data engineers, and developers to deliver business-focused solutions
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and secure technical designs
  • Contribute to application architecture, technical decision-making, and engineering best practices
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud deployment solutions
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise application performance, reliability, and operational supportability
  • Promote high standards of code quality, security, documentation, and software engineering practices
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing
  • Drive continuous improvement across application development, cloud engineering, and AI-enabled software delivery
