The Role: Electrical Design Engineer - Renewable Energy

Location: London (hybrid work pattern 2 days office)

Salary Banding: £100k-£140k + benefits

The Company: Our client, a fast-growing organisation in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a track record in the energy sector.

The Role: As Electrical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of engineering activities through the project lifecycle, from technical design to client and supplier engagement through to installation. You will manage and coordinate multiple projects, collaborating with our Project Management team. This is a pivotal role in delivering our clients' energy solutions for commercial and industrial clients. You will lead on the development of electrical designs and schematics, working closely with our suppliers and contractors to review their work. You will provide expert advice for our suppliers and customers.

The Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will have a Degree or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, ideally with Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards chartership) through a relevant professional institution. You will have proven success in the electrical engineering field, in the design, specification, and/or construction of solar PV and BESS projects, gained within a consultancy, EPC contractor, or developer environment. You will have a strong background in relevant projects and applications across the renewable energy sector with a proven track record in complex engineering projects.

  • Ability to prepare high-quality technical reports, specifications, and client-facing documentation.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and provide technical leadership.
  • Experience reviewing and approving engineering designs and deliverables.
  • Calm, pragmatic, and structured under pressure.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced SME environment with a hands-on approach.
  • Highly motivated and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a diligent and proactive approach to project delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A driving license (preferred).
