The Project: We are currently seeking a Site Manager to support the delivery of a utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project for a leading international EPC contractor. The project involves the installation and commissioning of a large-scale energy storage facility, including battery containers, a centralized Fire Suppression System (FSS), PCS and MV stations, PPC, SCADA systems, and full Grid Code compliance and integration.

Overview of the rôle:

  • Coordinate and supervise BESS installation and commissioning activities, with a strong focus on electrical systems and site interfaces.
  • Manage subcontractors and ensure safe, efficient execution of works related to batteries, PCS/Inverters, MV/HV systems, SCADA and Plant Management Systems.
  • Monitor site progress, prepare technical reports, support troubleshooting activities, and liaise with engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Manage site inventory, spare parts, tools, and material availability throughout project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, manage work permits, and proactively address unsafe conditions and behaviours.
  • Review subcontractor progress and support the validation of work completion, variations, and additional scope.

Requirements:

  • Familiar with BESS system operation, installation, and commissioning processes, with the ability to lead and coordinate multiple subcontractors on site.
  • Strong electrical background with exposure to mechanical activities.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Fluent in English.
