We are looking for a talented 3D Designer to join the creative team at ATW Studio in Cardiff. The ideal candidate will create 3D renders, models, and walkthroughs to bring concepts to life for events, fabrication, models, and immersive experiences.
This role sits within the creative team, working closely with Producers, Project Managers, and Production Technologists to ensure that all designs are visually compelling and technically feasible for production.
The role:
- Create high-quality 3D renders, models, and walkthroughs for events, installations, models, and experiential projects.
- Collaborate with the creative team to visualise concepts and design intent clearly for internal teams and clients.
- Maintain an eye on production feasibility, ensuring 3D outputs can be translated into practical fabrication and installation plans.
- Work closely with Production Technologists to ensure 3D models can be translated into 2D CAD drawings and production-ready assets.
- Support the creation of prototypes, mock-ups, and design presentations.
- Stay current with emerging 3D tools, visualization techniques, and design trends to enhance project outcomes.
- Contribute to internal workflows, templates, and best practices for 3D design.
Required skills and qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional 3D design experience in events, fabrication, models, or experiential design.
- Strong skills in 3D modelling, rendering, and visualization software, with SketchUp proficiency required.
- Experience producing 3D renders and walkthroughs for client presentations or internal review.
- Understanding of materials, scale, and production techniques, with the ability to design with feasibility in mind.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
