The role

We are looking for a Part-time Family Law Executive to provide cost-effective administrative and secretarial support to the Partners and other solicitors in the Family department.

This is a 12 month maternity cover - Part-time 17.5 - 20 hours a week.

Duties include but are not limited to

  • Carry out administrative and secretarial tasks speedily, efficiently and accurately (whilst consulting with partners and fee earners to properly prioritise tasked roles).
  • Handle new enquiries (including updating spreadsheets and conflict checks)
  • Fee Earner diary management
  • Accounts work including assisting fee earners with billing, raising invoices, and client account management
  • Payment of disbursements and other costs
  • Filing documents with the HMCTS Family Court via the portal
  • Typing duties inclusive of briefs to counsel and collation of relevant documents to prepare court bundles and exhibits
  • Preparing court documentation such as divorce petitions, c100, form E, form H with fee earner assistance.
  • Requesting medical records
  • Updating bundles
  • Assisting with audio dictation
  • At all times to exercise high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner.
  • Ensuring the confidentiality and security of all of the firm's and client documentation and information.
  • Complying with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and the Rules on the Professional Conduct of Solicitors
  • Maintaining clear and precise communications with other personnel in the firm
  • Ensuring good working relationships with external institutions and organisations
  • Taking responsibility for and attend to self-development.
  • Liaising with Head of Department and other partners, to be active in promoting the services of the firm and its image and ethos (including the advancement of the team's social media efforts).

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed the jobholder is required to perform such other duties from time to time.

Such other duties must be reasonable in relation to the jobholders’ skills, abilities, and status.

Travel to other offices may be required from time to time.
