Attribution Search is partnered with an elite global hedge fund looking to hire a Security Master Specialist into its growing Technology Function

The successful candidate will build the Security Master systems from the ground up , so they seamlessly integrate into their Python based systems.

They will also own the vendor relationships with Data providers.

This hire will build out a team over time.

Candidates with experience building or overhauling a Security Master in a buy-side firm, with strong Python, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and building the firm's Security Master, IBOR, and Reference Data systems.
  • Establishing data models, governance standards, quality controls, and operational processes
  • Owning the consistency and integrity of investment records across multiple systems and data sources
  • Integrating and normalising data from vendors including Bloomberg, S&P, Markit, and other market data providers
  • Acting as the owner of the firm's market data infrastructure, entitlements, and data distribution processes
  • Managing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, onboarding, and optimisation initiatives
  • Partnering closely with Risk, Product Control, Operations, and Portfolio Management teams to deliver scalable data solutions
  • Building tooling, automation, workflows, and documentation to improve efficiency and data quality

Requirements

  • Proven experience building, overhauling, or owning a Security Master and/or Investment Book of Record (IBOR) from the ground up.
  • Strong Python ability.
  • Experience working within a hedge fund, asset manager, investment bank, or similar buy-side environment is a must.
  • Strong familiarity with Bloomberg, Markit, S&P, and other reference data providers
  • Excellent understanding of reference data governance, data quality, and investment records management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both senior business stakeholders and technical teams
