Job Title: Store Person/Driver
Location: Washington Newcastle
Salary: Circa £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Store Person/Driver to join our team. This is a
hands-on role that combines warehouse duties with delivery responsibilities. The ideal
candidate will be organised, proactive, and confident in managing goods both in-store
and on the road.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse & Inventory:
Receive all deliveries and check goods against purchase orders
Maintain accurate records of stock levels, shortages, and spares
Liaise with suppliers regarding deliveries and stock discrepancies
Use inventory management systems to regularly update stock records
Operate forklifts to move goods safely and efficiently
Organise and distribute stock to relevant departments
Handle collection of goods from designated points and ensure completeness of orders
Driving & Deliveries:
Pack and load delivery vehicles in line with scheduled drop-off order
Plan efficient delivery routes using GPS and area knowledge
Deliver packages to clients promptly and professionally
Unload and obtain client signatures upon delivery
Maintain cleanliness and functionality of delivery vehicles, reporting any issues
promptly
Drive safely in all weather conditions
Maintain detailed delivery logs including mileage and routes taken
General:
Provide excellent service to clients and suppliers
Organise transportation using external hauliers when required
Knowledge of Sage software is advantageous
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar store/warehouse and delivery role
Valid UK driving licence
Forklift licence preferred
Strong organisational and communication skills
Competent using inventory software (Sage experience is a plus)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible and able to work under pressure
