We are seeking a reliable and experienced Store Person/Driver to join our team. This is a hands-on role that combines warehouse duties with delivery responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and confident in managing goods both in-store and on the road.
Key Responsibilities:- Warehouse & Inventory:
- Receive all deliveries and check goods against purchase orders
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, shortages, and spares
- Liaise with suppliers regarding deliveries and stock discrepancies
- Use inventory management systems to regularly update stock records
- Operate forklifts to move goods safely and efficiently
- Organise and distribute stock to relevant departments
- Handle collection of goods from designated points and ensure completeness of orders
- Driving & Deliveries:
- Pack and load delivery vehicles in line with scheduled drop-off order
- Plan efficient delivery routes using GPS and area knowledge
- Deliver packages to clients promptly and professionally
- Unload and obtain client signatures upon delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of delivery vehicles, reporting any issues promptly
- Drive safely in all weather conditions
- Maintain detailed delivery logs including mileage and routes taken
- General:
- Provide excellent service to clients and suppliers
- Organise transportation using external hauliers when required
- Previous experience in a similar store/warehouse and delivery role
- Valid UK driving licence
- Forklift licence preferred
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Competent using inventory software (Sage experience is a plus)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible and able to work under pressure
