This is a rare opportunity for a senior, entrepreneurial Lead Business Development Manager to pioneer and build out the UK, European, and Middle Eastern markets for a world-class geospatial technology company. You will not be inheriting a strategy; you will be creating it. This is a strategic role for a true commercial leader, focused on building a presence and closing high-value, complex deals in a greenfield territory.
Essential Requirements
- Experience as a geospatial generalist, engaging with a wide variety of industry verticals.
- Proven success in a senior sales or Business Development Manager role, selling complex technology solutions or consultancy services.
- Direct, hands-on experience selling across the diverse markets of the UK, Europe, and the Middle East (EMEA).
- A background thriving in a small, agile company environment (e.g., under 100 people).
- A stable and progressive career history that demonstrates commitment and growth.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Specific domain expertise and a successful track record within the Geospatial Finance or Reinsurance sectors.
Why Join?
- Uncapped Earning Potential: On top of a generous base of up to £120k, the VP feels OTE should DOUBLE your earnings (circa £240k) through a very generous commission structure. The company is even open to negotiating a higher commission split for the right individual.
- Solve the Unsolvable: Move beyond selling a standard product. You will be the go-to expert for clients with complex, challenging problems that require innovative, custom-built solutions. This is a role for a natural problem-solver who loves a “brain teaser.”
- Meaningful Impact: My client focuses on projects that make a tangible, positive difference in sectors such as environmental conservation and global agriculture.
- True Ownership: A company-wide equity plan is being finalised. You’ll have the chance to build a market and become a true owner in the business you help to grow.
- Autonomy & Trust: A fully remote, results-driven environment. Your team is trusted to deliver without micromanagement, offering flexibility to manage your own time and workload.
The Company
My client is a highly respected, specialist technology company made up of genuine geospatial experts. They have built an elite reputation as the partner of choice for organisations needing to solve complex geospatial and location-based challenges. They work with some of the world's largest and most innovative companies, including global leaders in finance, agriculture, and environmental conservation, acting as their strategic partner for all things geospatial.
The Role
As the Lead Business Development Manager for the region, you will be responsible for:
- Spearheading market entry and building a significant business presence from the ground up across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.
- Developing and executing the end-to-end commercial strategy for the territory.
- Identifying and negotiating high-value, multi-year contracts and strategic partnerships.
- Owning the full, complex sales cycle, from initial prospecting and consultation to proposal leadership and closing deals with executive-level stakeholders.
