Mission: Replace tarmac radios and spreadsheets with real-time algorithmic coordination.
Tired of pushing features to obscure SaaS products that nobody actually uses in the physical world?
An early-stage AI startup is replacing radios, paper, and spreadsheets on airport tarmacs with real-time algorithmic coordination. They need a Founding Backend Engineer to own the core infrastructure dictating physical movement in critical logistical environments.
Zero red tape. Real-world impact on day one. High-tier equity.
Why Build Here
- Complete Architectural Autonomy: Total ownership over backend systems with zero corporate bureaucracy.
- Immediate Physical Impact: Your code directly coordinates live operations on airport tarmacs the same day you ship it.
- Elite Founding Team: Work shoulder-to-shoulder in-person with a tight-knit, high-performance group.
- Founding Equity: Real ownership and a chance to shape the technical culture from day zero.
The Tech & Work
- Completely own backend platforms processing real-time operational events
- Architect and scale systems using Python, PostgreSQL, and AWS
- Solve distributed challenges: concurrent writes, out-of-order events, and bounded latency
- Integrate modern cloud systems with deeply legacy, uncooperative third-party data feeds
- Go on-site to observe live operations and collaborate directly with end-users
Hard Filters
- 3+ years of production backend engineering experience
- Deep, demonstrable expertise in Python, AWS, and PostgreSQL
- Strong background building event-driven architectures and robust state machines
- Ability to work fully on-site in Central London
