The team here brings sharp judgement, real craft, and the drive to do exceptional work. We're obsessed about the details and energized by the frontier. If you want to do the best work of your career, this is the right place.

About the role

Our Marketing team shapes how the world sees and experiences Attio. We think strategically, move fast, and obsess over quality — from acquisition to brand to product marketing. We experiment constantly, craft clear narratives, and focus relentlessly on what drives growth. This role sits within Studio — Attio’s multidisciplinary team of creatives and design engineers. Working closely with Brand, Product Marketing, Growth, and teams across the business, Studio operates as our in-house creative team, bringing ideas to life across campaigns, product launches, web experiences, and our broader brand.

We’re looking for a Senior Design Engineer to own one of Attio’s most important products: our marketing website. You’ll sit at the intersection of design and engineering, partnering closely with Brand, Product Marketing, and Growth to design, build, and evolve a world-class web experience that reflects the quality of our product and brand. From launching new product experiences and campaigns to refining interactions, performance, and accessibility, you’ll play a pivotal role in how customers experience Attio. This is a hands-on, high-impact role suited to someone who combines exceptional frontend engineering with outstanding design craft. You’ll be responsible for delivering pixel-perfect experiences, leading complex website projects from concept to launch, and continuously raising the quality, scalability, and sophistication of our marketing platform as Attio continues to grow.

What you’ll do

  • Own the Marketing Website: Take end-to-end ownership of Attio’s marketing website, ensuring it remains fast, beautiful, and technically excellent while continuously evolving alongside our brand, product, and business.
  • Build Exceptional Web Experiences: Translate high-fidelity designs into polished, performant, and accessible user experiences using modern frontend technologies including TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Motion. You’ll obsess over the details, ensuring every interaction feels thoughtful across every device.
  • Partner Across Marketing: Collaborate closely with teammates across Studio, Brand, Product Marketing, and Growth to bring ambitious creative concepts to life, contributing to layout, interaction design, animation, typography, and visual polish while helping shape the final user experience.
  • Lead Complex Website Projects: Own the technical delivery of major website initiatives from concept through to launch, balancing creativity with pragmatism while providing clear direction on feasibility, timelines, and implementation.
  • Evolve Our Frontend Platform: Continuously improve the architecture, tooling, and maintainability of our marketing stack, helping us move faster without compromising quality as the website grows in scale and complexity.
  • Raise the Engineering Bar: Champion exceptional engineering standards through clean, maintainable code, thoughtful technical decisions, and mentorship of other Design Engineers as the team continues to grow.

What you’ll bring

  • Exceptional Frontend Craft: Significant experience building high-quality, production-ready websites using a modern stack that includes TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Motion. You care deeply about performance, accessibility, maintainability, and implementation quality.
  • A Strong Design Eye: Outstanding visual taste with the ability to interpret design systems, typography, spacing, animation, and layout to an exceptionally high standard. You’re comfortable working directly in Figma and making thoughtful design decisions where needed.
  • Systems Thinking: Experience designing scalable website architecture, design systems, and workflows that enable teams to build quickly while maintaining consistency, quality, and long-term maintainability.
  • End-to-End Ownership: A proven track record of leading website projects from concept through delivery, coordinating stakeholders, balancing technical constraints with creative ambition, and consistently delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Excellent Product Judgement: Strong instincts for user experience, interaction design, and web best practices, with the ability to balance aesthetics, usability, performance, and business objectives.
  • Collaborative Leadership: An excellent communicator who enjoys partnering with designers, marketers, and engineers alike. You bring curiosity, ownership, and a high bar for quality, while helping elevate the people and work around you.

How to prepare for a job interview at Attio

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Attio uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
