About Attercop
Attercop is an AI consultancy built for private equity and PE-backed businesses. We help investors and their portfolio companies work out where AI genuinely creates value, then design and build the systems that deliver it, from due diligence through to production.
The Role
You'll own AI engagements end to end: leading discovery, design and prototyping, then directing delivery through Attercop's Applied Science and Engineering (ASE) team, who build to production. You hold the client relationship and the outcome throughout, including on work where ASE, not you, writes the production code. This is a senior, client-facing role. Alongside delivery, you'll run Diagnostic, Technology Due Diligence and proof-of-concept engagements at the pace deal teams need, and support proposals and scoping conversations before an engagement is signed. Most of your time is billable client work, with the balance split between pre-sales support and developing our methods, tools and IP.
Two things set this role apart
- You're the bridge between deep technical AI and commercial value: you'll translate trade-offs for non-technical stakeholders as much as you'll design.
- You bring delivery and engineering judgement alongside our governance and assurance capability; the two work together on most engagements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead discovery, solution design and prototyping on AI engagements, then direct ASE through build and into production, owning the client outcome throughout.
- Run Diagnostic, Tech DD and proof-of-concept engagements, and support proposals, scoping and pre-sales conversations with the Founder/CEO.
- Act as the trusted client advisor on AI strategy, feasibility and trade-offs, honest about what will and will not work.
- Translate technical detail into commercial terms for varied, often non-technical, audiences.
- Run workshops that show clients what current AI can and cannot do.
- Use AI tools heavily in your own work; we run the consultancy the way we advise clients to run theirs.
What We're Looking For
- A good degree in computer science or a related scientific or technical discipline.
- Genuine AI depth, ideally grounded in an engineering or data science background.
- Around 10 to 15 years of experience, on a route that began in engineering or delivery and grew into advisory or consulting.
- Strong end-to-end delivery experience in client or real-world environments where requirements evolve.
- A solid technical foundation across software development, data systems, APIs and cloud platforms: able to read code and follow system architecture, even where ASE owns the build.
- PE or investor-facing experience is desirable: comfort with deal-pace timelines and diligence-style work.
- Proven ability to translate technical detail into business value for different audiences.
- Excellent written and spoken communication, and the ability to build trusted client relationships, honest about uncertainty.
What Makes Someone Right for This Role
You'll thrive here if you're pragmatic, curious and comfortable with ambiguity: someone who takes initiative without being asked and makes sensible calls on incomplete information. Success here is measured by client outcomes; elegant work that changes nothing for the client does not count. You hold confident views, and you change them when the evidence says you should.
What We Offer
- Flexible and autonomous: a remote-first role with the trust and space to manage your own time.
- Interesting work: hands-on AI delivery for clients across the PE lifecycle, from diligence through to portfolio-wide transformation.
- Collaborative culture: a team that values openness, learning and mutual support.
- Competitive salary, plus EMI share options: a real stake in Attercop's growth.
