As part of delivering on our ambitious growth journey, we are now seeking a commercially minded, curious and driven Business Development Manager to join our Hospitality team.
This is a key role in helping us grow Attensi’s presence across the Hospitality and Leisure sector.
You will focus on identifying, engaging and converting new business opportunities with some of the UK and Europe’s leading hospitality brands, helping them understand how Attensi can transform the way they train, onboard and develop their people.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys new business development, consultative selling, research, fact-finding and building insight‑led conversations with customers.
You may already have experience selling into hospitality, leisure, retail, learning technology, Saa S or another people‑heavy sector.
What matters most is that you are commercially sharp, comfortable opening new conversations, and excited by the challenge of selling a high‑impact solution into large, complex organisations.
We know this role will also involve proposals, tenders and customer‑specific commercial submissions.
You do not need to be a bid specialist from day one.
We can teach the proposal and bid management elements.
What we are really looking for is someone who can uncover customer challenges, build trust, create momentum and help position Attensi as the right partner for large hospitality businesses.
Attensi primarily works with medium and large companies, typically ranging between 1,000 and 100,000 employees.
Success in this role will depend on your ability to identify the right prospective clients, initiate conversations, conduct discovery with senior stakeholders, and shape compelling value propositions around their operational, learning and business challenges.
What will you do?
The very first thing you will do once you join Attensi is get to know our products, values, people and way of operating.
We want you to get under the skin of our business and truly understand the value we provide our customers, so that you can represent us externally with genuine excitement and confidence.
Beyond that, your role will include
- Identifying ideal hospitality customers and actively pursuing conversations with key decision‑makers across large hospitality, leisure and multi‑site consumer businesses.
- Prospecting, generating leads and building awareness of Attensi across the Hospitality sector.
- Using research, insight and curiosity to understand prospective customers’ business models, operational priorities, workforce challenges and training needs.
- Mapping customer challenges around onboarding, service quality, compliance, leadership, customer experience, sales, operational consistency and employee performance.
- Running thoughtful discovery conversations and fact‑finding sessions with senior stakeholders.
- Communicating Attensi’s value proposition in a way that is relevant, commercial and specific to each customer.
- Helping customers understand where traditional training, LMS‑led approaches or existing learning solutions may not be driving the behavioural change they need.
- Supporting new business opportunities from early outreach through meetings, discovery, proposal, commercial conversations and handover.
- Working closely with the wider Hospitality commercial team to support sector growth and develop best practice.
- Partnering with Account Management, Customer Success, Product, Solution and Bid/Proposal colleagues to shape high‑quality customer responses.
- Contributing to proposals, RFPs, tender responses and commercial submissions as required, learning how to build persuasive, customer‑specific materials over time.
- Developing reusable messaging, case studies, sector insight and prospecting materials to support future Hospitality growth.
- Attending relevant industry events, exhibitions, webinars and networking opportunities to build relationships and increase awareness of Attensi.
- Helping drive knowledge about Attensi in the Hospitality space through insight, research and a strong understanding of the market.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone smart, commercially minded, relationship‑oriented and curious.
You enjoy understanding how businesses work, asking good questions and turning customer challenges into clear commercial opportunities.
You are energised by new business.
You are comfortable reaching out to people, opening conversations and building relationships from scratch.
You do not need to be a hard‑sell stereotype — in fact, that is not what we are looking for.
Our sales process is consultative, collaborative and insight‑led, focused on creating value propositions and solutions that address specific customer needs and pain points.
You will be at your best when combining research, commercial instinct and strong communication skills.
You will be able to look at a hospitality business and think carefully about where Attensi could create measurable impact — whether that is improving onboarding, service standards, sales behaviours, compliance, leadership capability, customer experience or operational consistency.
You will also be comfortable learning the proposal side of the role.
You may not have owned RFPs or tenders before, but you will be organised, thoughtful and able to write clearly.
Over time, you will become confident contributing to strong proposals, shaping customer‑specific messaging and helping us position Attensi in a commercially compelling way.
We are particularly excited by people who have sold into, worked with, or built relationships across hospitality, leisure, retail, Saa S, learning technology, HR technology, workforce technology or other technology‑led environments.
- You will have
- Experience in new business development, sales, commercial partnerships, account development or a similar customer‑facing commercial role.
- A genuine interest in the Hospitality and Leisure sector, and the operational challenges faced by large, distributed workforces.
- Strong prospecting skills and confidence initiating conversations with new customers.
- Experience building relationships with senior stakeholders, ideally including director‑level or C‑suite contacts.
- A consultative selling style, with the ability to uncover customer challenges and connect them to a compelling value proposition.
- Strong research and fact‑finding skills, with the curiosity to understand a customer’s business before trying to sell to them.
- A commercial mindset and the ability to understand buying motivations, value drivers and business impact.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with sales, account management, customer success, product and delivery teams.
- Strong organisation and follow‑through, with confidence managing multiple opportunities and internal stakeholders.
- Energy, resilience and adaptability in a fast‑paced scale‑up environment.
- Ideally, experience selling into hospitality, leisure, retail, Saa S, learning technology, HR technology or another people‑focused B2B environment.
- Ideally, some exposure to proposals, RFPs, tenders or customer‑specific commercial submissions — although this is not essential.
What would make you stand out?
- You have sold into large, multi‑site hospitality, leisure or retail organisations.
- You understand the challenges of training frontline, operational or customer‑facing teams at scale.
- You have experience displacing or challenging existing LMS, learning, HR, workforce or operational technology solutions.
- You are confident creating insight‑led outreach and opening doors with senior stakeholders.
- You can balance new business energy with a thoughtful, consultative and customer‑first approach.
- You enjoy turning research into commercial conversations.
- You are excited by the idea of learning Attensi’s proposal and bid process, rather than needing to arrive as a finished bid specialist.
