Are you an experienced Sales Estimator with a strong commercial mindset and a background in events, industrial services, or rental solutions? Do you thrive on building client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering accurate, commercially viable quotations that support business growth? We are seeking an Estimator to join our growing team. Reporting to the Business Development Director UK&E, you will play a key role in supporting revenue growth by identifying and developing rental opportunities, preparing detailed cost estimates, and working closely with internal teams to deliver winning commercial solutions. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining office-based work in St Ives with occasional client visits and field-based activity. Duties for this role will include:

  • Preparing accurate and competitive quotations, estimates, and cost breakdowns across a range of rental solutions and event service commodities.
  • Supporting the sales pipeline by identifying, qualifying, and developing new business opportunities from incoming enquiries.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients throughout the enquiry, quotation, and project handover process.
  • Reviewing client specifications and project requirements to ensure all estimates are commercially viable and operationally achievable.
  • Working closely with Sales Managers, Sales Support Managers, Operations, Procurement, and Project Delivery teams to produce effective commercial proposals.
  • Maintaining accurate quotation records, project revisions, and client communications within the CRM system (Zoho).
  • Providing professional commercial guidance to clients and supporting the creation of winning proposals.
  • Producing detailed costing models, margin analysis, and quotation reports to support commercial decision-making.
  • Monitoring supplier pricing, market trends, and competitor activity to maintain competitive and profitable pricing structures.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities prior to quotation submission and following internal approval processes.
  • Supporting business growth through excellent customer service, relationship management, and market awareness.
  • Adhering to all company health and safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in estimating, sales, or commercial roles, preferably within the Events industry and/or Industrial/Non-Event sectors.
  • Proven track record of producing accurate commercial estimates and delivering profitable solutions.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing costs, margins, and profitability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems and contract management software, ideally Zoho.
  • Ability to analyse complex information and provide practical commercial solutions.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial approach to identifying and developing opportunities.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and valid passport.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and undertake occasional overnight stays when required.
