Are you an experienced Automation & Controls Engineer looking to take ownership of full project lifecycles, from concept and design through to commissioning and client handover? Attega Group is proud to be partnering with a leading engineering solutions provider to recruit an Automation & Controls Engineer to join their growing Projects & Engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong PLC, HMI/SCADA, and electrical design experience who enjoys delivering bespoke process systems and turnkey automation solutions across a variety of industries. In return, is a salary of up to £55,000 P/A, depending on experience, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, flexible working arrangements, gym membership, private healthcare, career development opportunities and exposure to innovative automation and process engineering projects.

As an Automation & Controls Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing electrical control panels and producing electrical schematics.
  • Developing PLC and HMI/SCADA software solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Programming, testing, commissioning, and fault-finding PLC and control systems.
  • Conducting factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site commissioning activities.
  • Designing and integrating complete automation solutions including VFDs, instrumentation, and process equipment.
  • Producing Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacture and project costing.
  • Attending client and supplier meetings to define project scope and technical requirements.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously to ensure successful delivery against programme requirements.

Requirements:

  • BEng Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering industrial automation projects.
  • Strong PLC programming experience, particularly Siemens PLCs using TIA Portal.
  • Ability to test, commission, and fault-find electrical control systems up to 415VAC.
  • Experience producing electrical schematics using Autodesk Electrical, EPLAN, or similar software.
  • Strong understanding of industrial process systems.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience with Mitsubishi, Schneider, Allen Bradley, or Rockwell PLC platforms.
  • Food & Beverage, Process Engineering, Pharmaceutical, Water Treatment, or Manufacturing industry experience.
